Making a First Appointment
Please call ahead (520) 333.2628 to make an appointment for your first session – although cancellations do happen, same day appointments are not guaranteed. We do always try our best to accommodate your needs.
Quiet time can really help your body integrate the treatment more thoroughly. Please try to schedule your initial appointment when you can rest afterwards, especially if you have not had acupuncture, Tui Na or craniosacral therapy before. Put it in practical terms, please don’t do a Costco run, or attend a 20-kid birthday party right after your first session!
What to Wear
Most of the acupuncture treatments will require access to the arms and legs up to the knee. Sometimes depending on what we are treating, we also need access to the neck, and or the lower back. Hence, loose-fitting, comfortable clothes are best. Patients are always welcome to bring a pair of shorts to change into at the time of treatment.
Fragrances/Scents
Please be considerate to patients who have chemical or multiple sensitivities. We kindly ask that all patients refrain from wearing fragrance or strongly scented products on their visits to the clinic.
Initial Session
Treatment session is usually 90 minutes long which includes consultation and treatment. We will first have a verbal interview followed by a thorough physical exam (palpation, tongue and pulse, joints and muscles examination). The information gathered will help us devise a treatment strategy, whence we proceed with the treatment.
What Treatments Entail
All sessions are private and never double-booked or triple-booked. Treatments are usually a combination of acupuncture with some form of bodywork such as Tui Na (Chinese manual therapy), sinew release exercises, and or craniosacral therapy. Cupping and or Gua Sha may be included in the treatment if appropriate. (Want to know what they are? Click here)
Herbal prescription in the form of customized herbal extracts or sometimes patent formula tablets will be dispensed to support the treatment strategy when appropriate.
By having an integrated treatment approach and an in-house pharmacy, patients can concentrate on recovery without the hassle of managing different appointments.
Since our healing and long-term well-being are deeply affected by our physical and mental habits, in follow-up treatments I often utilize posture awareness, exercises, dietary suggestion, and lifestyle coaching to empower patients to further their recovery between and beyond treatments.
Being curious, willing to test-drive the “homework” and keeping an optimistic outlook can really improve the quality of the recovery process!

Payment
Payments are due at the time of service. Forms of payment include cash, checks, credit/debit, Zelle, and HSA/FSA.

Cancellation Policy
Please be aware that I block out 1.5-hour for each private treatment session plus time for cleaning and sanitation after each treatment. Unlike the professional norm, I do not treat multiple patients in any given session (double-booking or multiple-booking). This is a significant commitment of my resources in order to conduct a complete, unrushed and private treatment – the best care possible that I appreciate as a patient. It is very important that when you schedule your appointment you have thoroughly checked your personal and work calendar to ensure that your chosen date and time is ideal for you, and you make a commitment to attend your treatment.
Cancellation and rescheduling with less than 48 hours advance notice will be charged 50% of the treatment fee to make up for wasted resources and lost time. The fee will be waived for true medical and or life emergencies.
